Windstorm Caused Outages for About 17,000 Customers
SEATTLE - Power was restored to all customers about 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 10 after a windstorm knocked out service for about 17,000 customers Monday evening.
Seattle City Light repair crews responded to scattered power outages throughout the utility's service territory after steady winds of up to 35 mph knocked down branches and trees that took power lines with them.
Among the areas affected by the storm were Tukwila, West Seattle, Beacon Hill, Mt. Baker and the Sacajawea neighborhood of northeast Seattle.
Additional crews were called in to help with repairs and worked through the night to restore service to those who were affected.
