SEATTLE - Crews Expect to Restore Service to Most of the 3,000 Customers Affected Within an Hour
About 3,000 Seattle City Light customers lost power about 4:20 a.m. today when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole at Columbian Way and Alaska Street in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.
A repair crew was immediately dispatched. Crews expect to be able to route power around the problem spot and restore service to most customers within an hour and for all customers by about 9 a.m.
The general boundaries of the outage were S. Hanford St. on the north, S. Brandon Street on the south, 51st Avenue S. on the east and 10th Avenue S. on the west. Not all customers within that area were affected.
Seattle City Light reminds everyone that downed power lines might still be energized and dangerous so whenever you see downed power lines stay at least 20 feet away.
