SEATTLE - About 4,000 customers lost power in the Magnolia neighborhood about 9:40 a.m. today.
The Seattle Fire Department reported smoke coming from an underground vault near Broad and Harrison Streets and was responding. The power line involved in the outage originates near that location.
Seattle City Light repair crews also were dispatched to make repairs. The exact cause of the outage and how long it would take to restore power were not immediately available.
The general boundaries of the outage are W Fort Street on the north, W Galer Street on the south, 15th Avenue W on the east, and Puget Sound on the west. Not everyone within those boundaries is affected.
