Dump Truck Responsible For Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Outage
Service Fully Restored in About An Hour
SEATTLE - A dump truck from an Aurora Avenue nursery damaged a utility pole this morning, leading to a power outage that affected about 6,000 customers in the Shoreline and Lake Forest Park areas.
The dump truck snagged a pole-to-pole guy wire near 185th Street and Aurora Avenue about 10:40 a.m. The broken stabilizing cable flipped up into the power lines, causing a short. No one was injured in the incident.
Seattle City Light crews repaired the lines and restored service at about 11:50 a.m.
The general boundaries of the outage were NE 205th Street on the north, NE 165th Street on the south, 55th Avenue NE on the east, and Aurora Avenue N on the west. Not all customers within those boundaries were affected.
Three Shoreline School District buildings were affected by the outage Meridian Park Elementary, Echo Lake Elementary, and the District Center at 185th
