POWER OUTAGE HITS QUEEN ANNE, FREMONT, BRIARCLIFF/CARLETON PARK
Service Expected to Return Quickly for Most Customers
SEATTLE — About 9,200 customers lost power in the Queen Anne, Fremont and Briarcliff/Carleton Park neighborhoods about 4 p.m. Monday.
The cause of the outage was not immediately known. When the outage was triggered, the electricity that is typically carried by three feeder lines was being carried by one feeder line to accommodate scheduled maintenance at the Broad Street substation, causing a much larger area to be affected.
Three repair crews were dispatched immediately and were patrolling the lines hand-over-hand to identify the problem. Repair crews expected to restore service to most customers quickly once the problem was located.
The general boundaries of the outage were NW 48th Street on the north, Mercer Street on the south, 32nd Avenue on the West and Taylor Avenue on the east.
