Carol Butler Named Director of Coporate Performance at City Light
Former Analyst Will Lead Roll Out of Enterprise Performance Management System
SEATTLE - City Council Legislative Analyst Carol Butler has been chosen as Seattle City Light’s new director of corporate performance, the utility announced today.
In her new role, Butler will lead the roll out of City Light’s enterprise performance management system, which will measure the key metrics linked to the utility’s vision, mission and values and related outcome-driven goals.
“Carol’s extensive utility experience combined with her knowledge of City Light will be a great asset as we move forward in corporate performance,” City Light Chief Financial Officer Herb Hogue said.
Butler has more than 15 years of experience as an economist and economic consultant to utilities, primarily in the public sector.
In her work for the City Council for the past four years, Butler was assigned to City Light matters. Previously, Butler served as executive director of Washington, D.C.-based National Clean Cities Inc. from 1998 to 2003; president of CBM Associates in Connecticut from 1989 to 1998; a public utilities finance specialist for the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control from 1984 to 1989; and as an economist for the Connecticut Office of Police and Management, Energy Division in 1984.
Butler has a bachelor’s degree in economics and mass communication from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut.
