Roy Lum Named New City Light Technology Director
SEATTLE- Roy Lum will become the new director of Seattle City Light's Information Technology Services Division, City Light Superintendent Jorge Carrasco announced today.
 Roy Lum | Lum comes to City Light with more than 18 years of information technology experience, including nine years in senior leadership positions managing complex infrastructures and applications for large organizations. He served most recently as chief information officer for LifeEra of Portland, Ore., a member of United Health Group, where he directed technology strategy, planning and national operations. His public-sector experience includes two years as deputy director of the Washington State Department of Information Services, where he was in charge of strategic technology programs, enterprise technical architecture, IT policy standards, and acquisitions. Lum also has led IT development of call-center systems for a variety of large corporations as a consultant.
Lum has a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Davis and a master's degree in computer information systems from Boston University. He spent 12 years in the U.S. Air Force, attaining the position of chief of the technology division for the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base.
