Final discussion in Cimate Change series looks at urban plans
The last of four public presentations on the local impacts of climate change takes place in downtown Seattle Monday, October 31. The series is sponsored by Seattle City Light's Green Up renewable power program with support from Unico Properties.
The series concludes with "Planning for Climate Change," featuring City Light Superintendent Jorge Carrasco, Seattle Public Utilities Director Chuck Clarke and Seattle City Auditor Susan Cohen.
Topics include plans and adaptive strategies for dealing with likely impacts of climate change on electricity generation, water availability and transportation projects. Cohen is the author of a recent city report on impacts of climate change on the Seattle Department of Transportation.
This free event runs from noon-1:15 p.m. at the Rainier Square Conference Center, 1301 5th Avenue in downtown Seattle. Attendees are welcome to bring lunch. Presentations have been filled to capacity and seating is limited, so arrive early to guarantee your space. Read more about Seattle City Light's Green Up program at www.greenupseattle.org
