City Light Superintendent to congratulate winners of Shrinking Bigfoot Calendar Contest

We all know that a big carbon footprint is a big problem, but thanks to the help of local elementary students in the Seattle City Light service territory we are steps closer to shrinking Bigfoot. The13 winners of the Shrinking Bigfoot Calendar Contest will be congratulated by Superintendent Jorge Carrasco Wednesday, Nov. 14 for their creative artwork illustrating ways to shrink their footprint. Their art will be featured in a 13-month calendar this month.

All proceeds from the calendar will go to Project Share, a community partnership project that assists low-income customers with their electric utility bills. Calendars can be purchased for $10 at City Light’s North and South Service Center, the 42nd Floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower, and on City Light’s website at http://seattle.gov/light/contest/.

WHO: Seattle City Light Superintendent Jorge Carrasco and our 13 local contest winners from the Seattle City Light service territory in grades 3-6.

WHAT: Superintendent Jorge Carrasco will congratulate the contest winners and hand out their prizes: a family membership of their choice to Pacific Science Center, Woodland Park Zoo, the Seattle Aquarium, or the Seattle Children’s Museum, as well as a family Skagit River boat tour and a cool science kit. He’ll also ask the kids to share their wise tips on how we can all save energy!

WHEN: November 14, 2012
5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Seattle City Light North Service Center
1300 N. 97th St.
