Crews make repairs after short circuit occurs
SEATTLE —Seattle City Light crews restored power to all customers at approximately 6 p.m. today after an electrical fault in an overhead line left approximately 3,289 customers without power in a portion of the Ballard/Fremont neighborhood.
The outage was first reported at 7:55 this morning. The original boundaries were North 48th Street on the north; North 34th Street on the south; Stone Way North on the east; and 11th Avenue NW on the west.
Seattle City Light is the tenth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
