SEATTLE — Seattle City Light crews are working to restore power to about 1,600 customers in the Seattle area this evening, Thursday, May 13. Earlier this evening, crews restored power to about 4,200 customers in Northeast Seattle. The following areas are without power:
About 80 customers in the Fremont area lost power at about 6:45 p.m. The boundaries of the outage are: North – 46th Street; South – N. Allen Place; East – Woodlawn Avenue North; West – Woodland Park Avenue North. No estimated time of restoral.
In West Queen Anne area, about 1,600 customers are without power. The outage began about 7:30 p.m. The boundaries are: North – West Barrett Street; South – Denny Way; East – 2nd Avenue North; West 17th Avenue West. The estimated restoral time is about 11 p.m.
Not all customers in these areas may be without power.
Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
