Repair Crews Expect Full Restoration About Noon
SEATTLE— Repair crews have restored power to most of the 4,000 customers affected by a power outage in Magnolia this morning.
The outage was reported at 7:20 a.m. Crews discovered power lines near 32nd Avenue and Lynn Street that had been knocked down by trees in high winds. By routing power around the damaged area, the crews were able to restore service to all but 127 customers by 9:20 a.m. Full restoration is expected about noon.
The general boundaries of the remaining outage were W McGraw Street on the north, Puget Sound on the south, Magnolia Boulevard on the west, and 23rd Avenue W on the east.
Not everyone in these boundaries will be without power.
Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
