About 6,656 customers have recovered power this morning after a brief outage affecting Seattle Center and Queen Anne. The cause is believed to be failed underground switch.
About 156 customers remain without power around Seattle Center. Those boundaries are:
North: Mercer St.
South: Denny Way
East: Taylor Ave N.
West: 1st Ave N.
The outage began at about 5 a.m. and at one point included large portions of Queen Anne affecting 6,800 customers.
Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
