Subject:   Scattered Power Outages Affecting Northeast Seattle, Northwest Seattle and Madrona Neighborhood

SEATTLE Lighting and rain caused scattered power outages in Madrona and neighborhoods in northeast and northwest Seattle. City Light crews are working to make repairs and restore power. Not all customers within these general boundaries are affected:

Outage reported at 11:48 p.m., Nov. 5, 2009 affecting about 2,065 customers. Boundaries of this outage are E. Pike St. on the north, S. King St. on the south, Lake Washington on the east and 23rd Ave. on the west. This outage was caused by lightning. The estimated restoration time is not immediately known.

Outage reported at 11:46 p.m., Nov. 5, 2009 affecting about 2,600 customers. Boundaries of this outage are N 123rd St. on the north, N 70th St. on the south, Corliss Ave. N. on the east and 8th Ave. NW on the west. This outage was caused by lightening. The estimated restoration time is not immediately known.

Outage reported at 11:42 p.m., Nov. 5, 2009 affecting about 3,192 customers. Boundaries of this outage are NE 123rd St. on the north, NE 74th St. on the south, Lake Washington on the east and 5th Ave. NE on the west. This outage was caused by a pole fire. The estimated restoration time is not immediately known.

It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
