SEATTLE — City Light crews returned power to about 3,800 customers at about 8:50 p.m., November 5.
The outage was caused by trees in the wires. This outage was originally reported at about 7 p.m. City Light crews were quickly dispatched to clear the trees and make repairs.
The general boundaries of the outage were: W. Ewing St. on the north, Mercer St. on the south, 6th Ave. N. on the east and 14th Ave. W. on the west. Not all homes and businesses within these general boundaries were affected.
Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
