POWER FULLY RESTORED TO QUEEN ANNE/UPTOWN AREA
SEATTLE — Seattle City Light crews have restored power for all 6,656 City Light customers on Queen Anne Hill and in the Uptown area, who lost service at 1:03 this afternoon.
A cable failure is believed to have been the cause of the outage. Dispatchers were able to route power around the damage and restore service at about 2:15. Repairs crews are now working to replace the failed cable.
The area affected was bordered on the north by W. Barrett St., on the south by Harrison St, between 11 Ave. W. and 2nd Ave N..
Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
