Seattle City Light is in the process of an organizational re-design. The overall purpose of the reorganization is to transform Seattle City Light into a high-performance organization dedicated to customer satisfaction, employee growth and operational excellence. Our specific goals are to:
  • Improve lines of communication across the utility
  • Promote teamwork across disciplines
  • Promote clear lines of accountability
  • Delegate decision-making authority and accountability
All of this will result in improved customer service, better stewardship of our physical and human assets and stronger financial performance.

City Light Business Units:
Customer Service & Energy Delivery - Responsible for managing activities related to the delivery of our product to our customers, including all power distribution, account and customer services, and the System Control Center. ( organizational chart - *.pdf)

Financial Services - Responsible for our financial affairs, risk management, strategic planning and information technology. ( organizational chart - *.pdf)

Human Resources - Responsible for all functions supporting employees, including Safety and the Apprentice Program. ( organizational chart - *.pdf)

Power Supply & Environmental Affairs - Responsible for all functions related to power generation, including power plant operations, power marketing, integrated resources planning, licensing, environment, and facilities. ( organizational chart - *.pdf)

Office of the Superintendent - Responsible for oversight and coordination of all utility and external relationships with Mayor, City Council and other constituencies, including communications within the utility and throughout the community. ( organizational chart - *.pdf)
