  • Reduced lighting maintenance costs
  • Free, no obligation lighting survey
  • Variety of efficient lighting models and styles
  • Free bid review and technical assistance

Rebate Amounts

SCL offers up to 85% off the installed costs of the common area lights and gas/per fixture for in-unit lights as a cash rebate. The rebate check may be issued to the building owner or the installer.

Lighting Measures

Most lighting fixtures and controls in the following areas on the commercial meter must be replaced as a package:
  • Hallways, stairways and exit lighting
  • Lobby, inside and outer entries, laundry and recreation rooms
  • Parking and landscape lighting
Building Qualifications
  • 5 or more unit apartment building, condominium or cooperative
  • Located in Seattle City Light's service area
How to Apply

Call Seattle City Light's Conservation Help Line at 206.684.3800 and ask about the Multifamily Common Area Lighting Rebate Program.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Any lighting upgrades done prior to rebate request are not eligible for MFCAL rebates. Seattle City Light must approve lighting bids before work begins in order to qualify for MFCAL rebates.

If eligible, we can take your information over the phone. The "Customer, Contractor & Installer Prcedures and Specifications" wil be sent to you. Or complete the online application.

If you already have lighting bids, contact MFCAL staff Leo Castillo at 206.684.4281 or leo.castillo@seattle.gov to schedule a free bid review.
