The Boundary Hydroelectric Project, located on the Pend Oreille River in Northeastern Washington, supplies more than one-third of Seattle City Light's power. Discover the Boundary Hydroelectric Project nestled in the foothills of the Selkirk Mountains and positioned along the banks of the scenic Pend Oreille (pronounced "pond-ah-ray") River.

Our 299,000 horsepower turbines and electrical generating facilities produce clean, renewable energy. Enjoy a guided tour to experience the Visitors' Gallery located deep inside a massive limestone cavern and enjoy expansive views at the Vista House and observation deck.

Other recreational opportunities abound throughout the area. For more information, visit http://www.seattle.gov/light/Boundary/recreation.asp

Forging Partnerships with Local Business

Seattle City Light is one of the area's largest employers. The utility won the "National Eyes on Wildlife Award" for teaming up with the Colville National Forest to assist in the development of Flume Creek Mountain Goat Viewing Area. Seattle City Light manages the Boundary Project and five other hydroelectric dams in Washington State, providing the lowest cost, most reliable and greenest electricity in urban America.
