Work planned on: NE NorthLake Way and 4th Avenue NE

In December we notified you of our plans to replace a pole and upgrade a vault roof along NE Northlake Way between 2nd and 5th Avenues NE. This is an update for you.

Project Overview:

City Lights work is planned for weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting in late March. It is expected the project will last approximately 8 weeks.

  • WHAT: Replacing old pole, upgrading underground vault roof and pulling in new electrical cable.
  • WHY: The pole is old and needs replacing. The vault roof is in need of upgrading. The vault carries electrical cable coming from University Substation. The cable needs to be replaced.
  • WHERE: All of the work is on the north side of NE Northlake Way. Crews plan to start with the pole replacement work between Latona and 2nd Avenues. They will then excavate the vault between 4th and 5thAvenues. At the end of the project they will pull in cable. See map.

What You Can Expect:

  • Parking on the north side of NE Northlake Way will be affected. No parking signs will be enforced, but kept to a minimum. Crews will remove them as soon as they are finished. Customers can help by obeying the signs, so the work can be completed as quickly as possible.
  • No power outages are expected for this work.
  • Intermittent heavy equipment noise.

Thank you for your patience during the upgrade of the electrical service in your area.
