Seattle City Light is replacing the streetlight system in the Denny Blaine neighborhood.
Crews will be replacing aging underground electric cable with new conduit and cable. We will also be installing new metal poles and streetlight fixtures as a part of the project.
The installation will occur from the street end of Maiden Lane E. to its intersection with E. John Street and continue on E. John Street and Dorffel Drive E. for approximately 500 feet. The installation of conduit, electric cable, and streetlights is expected to last approximately three weeks on Maiden Lane E. and three weeks on Dorffel Drive E. Daily work hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
No power outages are scheduled since streetlights are on a separate circuit from power to your home.
You can expect temporary parking and traffic impacts.
“No Parking” signs will be used on the street where the work is being done. We will keep the restrictions to a minimum. Please help by obeying the signs, so that we can complete these repairs as quickly as possible. We will not block access to driveways. Be aware that any cars in the “No Parking” zones during work hours will be towed.
A flagger will maintain a travel lane through the work zone.
We anticipate approximately four trucks including a mini-backhoe to be onsite during the work.
Trenching will take place to install the conduit. Any excavation will take place in the public right-of-way.
Vegetation that is in the way of the construction process will need to be trimmed or pruned. A City Light Electrical Service representative will contact homeowners in advance about pruning any vegetation that will impact the construction area.
