Work planned on: 5th and Washington Duct Bank

|
Seattle City Light will install a new conduit (duct bank) across 5th Avenue S. at S. Washington Street. This project will connect existing underground power lines to increase service reliability. Crews plan to excavate across 5th Avenue at the north side of the intersection with S. Washington Street. This project will not involve any scheduled power outages. Crews plan to maintain two travel lanes through the work. Several on-street parking slots will be lost on both sides of S. Washington Street due to construction staging. “No Park” signage will be placed at those slots.
Daily work hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, Monday through Friday, with some weekend work possible. Some noise is possible as trucks are used to pump water from the vaults which the new duct bank will connect. However, this will only occur during daytime work. Once the civil construction is done, at a later date, crews will install new cable over several days.
