Seattle City Light is supporting Sound Transit’s Northgate Link Extension of light rail by relocating electric utilities at and near the three future light rail stations: University District, Roosevelt and Northgate.
The work must be done in order to maintain power to customers and facilitate construction of the light rail.
The electric relocations can be seen on the Roosevelt and Maple Leaf portal site maps.
Check back for further updates on these electric relocations and ones related to the University District and Northgate.
Project Timeline:
Utility relocations for the Maple Leaf Portal site will begin in April 2013 and conclude in July 2013. Please see the project map above. Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Some weekend and nighttime work may be required.
Power Outages:
In order for crews to work safely, planned power outages will be necessary. Customers will be provided with advanced notification. We will work to minimize these outage impacts.
Traffic Impacts:
There will be some lane closures on 1st Avenue NE and on NE 95th Street. Crews will follow traffic control plans established by Seattle Department of Transportation and work to ensure access is maintained for residents.
