Seattle City Light is removing old cable and replacing it with newer, more reliable cables in the next section of the Laurelhurst neighborhood. The boundaries for this phase of the Laurelhurst modernization are NE 38th Street on the north, NE 33rd Street on the south, E. Laurelhurst Drive NE on the east and 43rd Avenue NE on the west.
A few planned outages will be needed to do the work safely. Customers will be notified in advance of all planned outages.
4/22/2013 Update: The infrastructure construction is now complete. It is the phase that had the most impact. At a later point in time, cable pulling and splicing will take place. This latter phase has a much smaller footprint. It involves crews pulling cable from one vault to another and no further excavation. The work has not yet been scheduled.
