As an integral part of improving the Mercer Corridor and changing the street from a one-way to a two-way arterial, we are undergrounding existing overhead power lines. In the process we will increase the capacity of our transmission and distribution system. New streetlights will be added as part of the project. 10/25/2012 Update: Our work on Mercer Street proper is completed. Other parts of the project (Valley Street and Fairview Avenue) are still needing to be done. They are schedule for 2013.
