This project constructs six drilled pier foundations ranging from 8 to 10 feet in diameter and 30 to 45 feet below ground. Following the completion of the foundations by contractor Malcolm Drilling, Seattle City Light crews will install new steel poles, relocate transmission wiring, and remove existing wood poles. This work is being done to facilitate future roadway modifications in the area that will improve accessibility to the Port of Seattle.
Very little, if any, traffic impacts are expected as part of this project. Work will take place during daylight hours with exception of pole foundations constructed in the Restaurant Depot parking lot area, which will be completed at night. Access to Restaurant Depot and Ash Grove Cement will be coordinated and maintained.
