Annual Financial Statement Audits
The City of Seattle, Seattle City Light Department, is requesting proposals from reputable certified public accounting firms having electric utility experience and a local office, to perform audits of the Department's annual financial statements for each of the years ending December 31, 2002 through 2006. The purpose of the audit engagements will be to obtain the independent auditor's opinion on whether the financial statements are presented fairly and in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.

The initial contract will cover the financial statement audit for 2002, and is anticipated to be in the range of $110,000 to $120,000. The term of the contract will be for one year, and the City may at its option renew the contract based on needs and funding. The contract may be extended for up to four additional years in one-year increments.
Additional accounting or auditing services that may be required outside the scope of the annual financial statement audits, if any, may be awarded as an amendment to the original contract.
The contract that is awarded as a result of this RFP will be awarded in a manner that will comply with all applicable laws of the United States, State of Washington, the City Charter, and Ordinances of the City of Seattle.
