Green Power Program

Solar Demonstration Projects

The Green Power Program completed three solar demonstration projects in 2009.
  • Saint Joseph Elementary School in Seattle (5.4 kW)

  • Seattle Aquarium Solar Hot Water System

  • Dimmitt Middle School in Renton (2.6 kW)

This brings the total to 28 projects installed since 2002 and a combined peak generating capacity of 84 kilowatts (DC). These projects are estimated to produce over 84,000 kWh of clean, renewable electricity each year. This is enough power to run 20 energy conserving homes.

A complete list of our solar demonstration projects with links to project summaries and live production data is provided below.

Thank You!
These projects are 100% funded with the continuing contributions of City Light customers. Many of you have been supporting these projects for years. You deserve a huge "Thank You" for helping to grow the commercial market for solar and other renewable energy sources in our community.
