Conservation: Affordable BUILT SMART Program
Seattle City Light's BUILT SMART for Affordable Housing program pays to add energy-efficient components when building new or renovating existing low-income apartment buildings and condominiums. Your building will operate more efficiently and save you and your tenants money, while preserving our natural resources.

  • Clothes Washers

  • Healthier, more comfortable building

  • Reduced utility bills for tenants

  • Help in coordinating your project with other City of Seattle departments

Building Eligibility Criteria:
  • For sale or rent to occupants with incomes 80% (or less) of the Seattle Median Income
  • Located in Seattle City Light service territory
  • Multifamily new construction or major remodel projects with 5 or more units
