Seattle City Light Seeks Additional Renewable Energy
Seattle City Light is seeking proposals for the long-term purchase of up to 200,000 megawatts of renewable energy and/or their associated renewable energy certificates. The purchase would be for at least 10 years, starting in 2020. City Light will consider proposals for equity ownership. Details are available here. Update Your Account Information
It's part of our ongoing efforts to improve customer service. Seattle City Light is enhancing communications for reporting outages and to receive information about outages. We need YOUR help! Many customers have had a City Light account for years and it's likely that your account information hasn't been updated for some time. Also, many of our customers now use a cellular telephone as their only phone service and we might not have that number in our system. Some of you have told us you'd like to get an e-mail when there's an outage because you can receive them on your cell phone. Please help us stay in touch by updating your contact information.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center - An Energy Efficiency Leader. As a component to its primary mission of eliminating cancer, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center has taken a comprehensive approach to the prevention of environmental damage and conservation of resources in its 25 years of existence. The Center is well known as a leader in incorporating energy efficiency into its buildings as they are built, operating and maintaining its equipment for optimal performance, and continuously improving the energy performance of its buildings. Each year the Center continues to invest time, money and staff resources to minimize it's environmental impact, conserve energy and model a strong environmental ethic. The Center was recently one of the first business participants in Seattle City Light's Green Power Program. The Center has a long list of awards for its efforts, among them three of City Light's "Power Player" awards and recognition for "Achievement in Energy Efficiency by an End User" from the national Association of Energy Services Professionals. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory also used it in a case study as a reference for similar facilities around the country.
