Seattle City Light's First New Substation Investment in Nearly 30 years
Seattle City Light is designing its first new substation in 30 years. The Denny Substation will serve businesses and residents in the commercial areas and residential neighborhoods throughout our service territory, as well as alleviate the distribution congestion in the areas of South Lake Union, Cascade, Denny Triangle, Uptown, Belltown and First Hill. It will provide the higher level of reliability and electrical load density needed by our major medical centers, bio-tech research facilities, and high tech industries, and by current and future manufacturing and innovative entrepreneurial industries. It's part of our ongoing efforts to improve customer service. Seattle City Light is enhancing communications for reporting outages and to receive information about outages. We need YOUR help! Many customers have had a City Light account for years and it's likely that your account information hasn't been updated for some time. Also, many of our customers now use a cellular telephone as their only phone service and we might not have that number in our system.
