Bonneville Power Administration Pass-Through
Effective October 1, 2010
Description of Increase
Effective October 1, 2010 energy charges for most residential and general service rate classes will increase by about .5 percent. These changes will pass through to our customers the additional cost of power resulting from the power rates charged by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). The City Council mandated the pass-through of changes in BPA rates (up or down) in the rate ordinance that was passed in January 2001. The increase in the energy charge will be 0.030 cents per kWh for the following rate classes:
- Standard Residential – City, Burien, Shoreline, Suburban and Tukwila (Schedules RSC, RSB, RSH, RSS and RST)
- Small General Service – City, Burien, Shoreline, Suburban and Tukwila (Schedules SMC, SMB, SMH, SMS and SMT)
- Medium General Service - City, Burien, Network, Shoreline, Suburban and Tukwila (Schedules MDC, MDB, MDD, MDH, MDS and MDT)
- Large General Service – City, Network, Shoreline, Suburban and Tukwila (Schedules LGC, LGD, LGH, LGS and LGT)
- High Demand General Service – City and Tukwila (Schedules HDC and HDT)
For customers in the Residential Rate Assistance classes (Schedules REC/RLC, REB/RLB, REH/RLH, RES/RLS and RET/RLT) the increase will be one half of the increase for other classes (0.012 cents per kWh).
