| Greg Smith surely knew the challenging task he was undertaking in early 1999 when he agreed to lead the effort to build a lab to test City Light’s computer systems and applications. But, Greg is one who steps up to challenges, and this was a big one that had never been done before. The lab was an isolated network of servers and workstation emulating City Light’s production systems. Greg installed and coordinated the testing of City Light’s critical applications and many others. One can only imagine the technical complexity and coordination required for this daunting task. Greg was so successful that his lab served as a model for the rest of the City. The lab will continue to be used for testing application and operating system upgrades. Both Greg and the lab he build are outstanding resources for City Light and the entire City! |
