This team was responsible for the coordination of all City Light’s efforts to prepare for Y2K, a highly visible project with critical consequences for City Light and the City. This team pulled together decision-makers, identified and articulated clear goals, and successfully executed a plan. The work was accomplished within the expected cost and, needless to say, on schedule. The work associated with Y2K was very special for two reasons: it was both visible and was not an area where anyone could draw on a wealth of previous experience. This team had to define and execute a project quickly and coordinate staff from all branches of the utility.
