Ending Youth HomelessnessHomeless Youth Multi-Service CentersHomeless Youth Multi-Service Centers are a key component of the continuum of services designed to move youth off the streets and into safe housing. These centers reduce the risks associated with homelessness and also provide meals, showers, laundry facilities, employment, job training, counseling, school, health care and legal assistance. Each year, they serve more than 1,300 young people between the ages of 11 and 24. Programs are designed to provide appropriate levels of supervision, structure, and therapeutic activities for the specific needs of various age groups and populations. The Seattle Human Services Department has funded multi-service agencies helping youth since 1985. Funding awards are determined through a competitive process that is conducted by the department at least once every four years. Funding during funding cycles depends upon program performance and funding availability. The 2013 allocation is approximately $199,637 of City of Seattle General Funds. 2013 Funded Agencies and Programs
