Community Crime Prevention and Juvenile Justice Initiatives

Safe neighborhoods mean a safe city. Seattle’s community crime prevention and juvenile justice initiatives focus on increasing public safety and reducing youth violence and gang activity, primarily in southeast and southwest Seattle.

The South Park Initiative provides comprehensive prevention and intervention services for South Park youth and, when appropriate, their families.

The Public Safety – Human Services Initiative seeks to break the cycle of people frequently involved in the criminal justice system by providing access to housing, treatment and employment services.

Safe Communities promotes safer neighborhoods by connecting people to their neighborhoods and providing access to crime prevention services and activities.
