Long-term care is topic of Senior Coffee Hour on April 19
Living at home as we age is the preferred choice for most older adults, but an increasing number of elders are living in nursing homes, assisted living residences and other long-term facilities.
Washington State Long Term Care Ombudsman Patricia Hunter will discuss advocating for people in long-term care facilities at the Senior Coffee Hour on Thursday, April 19, 10 to 11 a.m., in the Central Building, 810 3rd Ave., 1st floor, Seattle, WA 98104. Sponsored by the Seattle Human Services Department’s Mayor’s Office for Senior Citizens, the event is free and open to the public.
As State Ombudsman, Patricia Hunter implements policies and administers programs that enhance the well-being, rights, and quality of life of individuals living in licensed long-term care facilities throughout Washington state. In this role, she oversees 13 regional subcontractors that provide certified volunteer ombudsmen who work on behalf of long-term care residents. For more information see: http://www.ltcop.org.
