Eviction Moratorium
On March 14, Mayor Jenny A. Durkan signed an emergency order to place a temporary moratorium on residential evictions in Seattle. The order will continue for 60 days or until the civil emergency ends and also prohibits charges for late or partial rent payments.
Resources for Homeowners
If you are having trouble or may soon have trouble making your mortgage payment due to a COVID-9 related illness or economic hardship, help may be available. Contact the Washington Homeownership Resource Center (WHRC) at 877-894-4663 or email info@homeownership-wa.org. The Office of Housing foreclosure prevention rescue fund may be accessed by contacting the WHRC
Unemployment Insurance
The Washington Employment Security Department adopted emergency rules to help workers impacted by COVID-19 related temporary lay-offs, school closures, isolation and quarantine. Resources are also available for employers.
