President Bonnie Miller called the
meeting to order at 7:30 PM. President Miller welcomed the trustees, general
membership and guests.
The meetings opened with a Flag
presentation by Boy Scout Troop 186. The
scouts participating were Tommy Bemis – Life Scout, Kevin Taucher – Life Scout,
Josh Grega – Second Scout, Lucas Trautman – Tenderfoot and Hank Reimers –
Tenderfoot. The Scout Leader is Marty Taucher.

Report:

Hawthorne Hill dues are payable to HHCC –
Carolyn Chapman, Treasurer, by Fall 2007.
Dues are $25 per household and $15 per senior household (over 65).

Candidates gave a short statement of
their experience and vision for HHCC.
George Holzapfel, seconded by John Sanford, made a motion to accept the
slate of Officers and Trustees. The slate was voted on by the membership in
attendance and approved.
The HHCC web site is ready for public
access (webmaster - Kent Isgrig). The web site can be found at http://www4.seattle.gov/HawthorneHills/.
Presentations:
Sharon Bertsch of the Pullman Avenue
group presented concerns regarding the area between the Burke Gillman Trail and
the construction project for the Center for Spiritual Living to the membership
and guests for comments.
Royal Alley-Barnes, Manager, North Region
Parks Resources and Citywide Athletics, Seattle Parks and Recreation, gave an
overview on local parks and the Pro Parks Levy which ends in 2008. The discussion included Bryant Park street
parking, pedestrian safety, B-G Trail maintenance, tree replacement, and a July
4 community picnic at University Circle and Seattle Mayor’s safety
initiative. Royal will follow-up with

Eric Widstrand, Seattle Department of
Transportation, gave an overview and led a discussion on speed limits,
crosswalks at Sandpoint Way NE and 63rd/ B-G Way Place and other
Seattle traffic concerns and enforcement.

Holzapfel was given to Gail Chiarello,
Editor of Hawthorne Holler, for her
hard work and dedication in producing the newsletter.
There will be Newsletter/July 4 planning
meeting April 19, 2007 in Building 30 at Sand Point Magnuson Park.
The next scheduled Trustees’ meeting will
be held June 20, 2007 at 7:30 PM in Building 430, at Sand Point Magnuson Park.
The meeting was adjoined at 9:30 PM.
