The minutes from Sept. 19, 2007 meeting
were presented. B. Miller moved to
accept the minutes, seconded by S. Aker.
The motion to approve the minutes was voted on and passed.

B. Miller moved to accept the Treasurer's

motion was voted on and passed.
Project
Debra Voss presented a plan for public
pool space. Project Seattle Pools was established by a neighborhood group
dedicated to expanding access to public pools in
Solid Ground
Kira Zylstra Solid Ground (formerly
Fremont Public Assoc.) presented the draft plan for “transition –in – place”
housing (not “transitional housing”. Transitional-in-place “
has services available at al times. There are 94 unit planned, the 106
in two stages. Phase “B” will have 72-unit s.

Children’s Hospital Expansion
S. Hartnett, alternate CAC (Children
Advisory Committee) member, updated the Council of Children’s

The newsletter deadline for ads and
submissions is mid February 2008.
NPAC
G. Holzapfel
The 2008 Seattle Police budget for hiring
and recruiting has been increased. The
SPD is exploring other additions to the force (motorcycle medics) and a
proposed new precinct.
Fourth of July Celebration Ryan Rockwell
The second Hawthorne Hills Fourth of July
celebration sin the planning stages.
Plans will be made to have another celebration in 2008. It was suggest the Metropolitan Market be
contacted for support.
The statewide group for air traffic
planning gathers information continuously and informs other community
groups. He also discusses the Pacific
Street Inter change or SR5320. HHCC
should be involved in the SR520 alternative.
A. Forey moved (seconded by S. Aker) the HHCC sent a letter in support
of the alternative to the SR520 interchange.
It was voted on and passed. A. Forrey will circulate a draft letter for
review by the HHCC in support of an alternative for the SR520/Pacific
interchange.

The web site now provides HH neighbors
the ability pay dues on line; just click “pledge” for payment.
The link to Children’s Coalition Action
will be added to the HHCC web page.
Friends of Burke-Gilman Trail at Sand
Point (Friends) Margaret
Thouless
More than 80 people volunteered time for
the tree planting work parties along the B-G Trail behind the Center for
Spiritual Living (CSL). Margaret
Thouless will write an article for the Hawthorne Holler on
"Restoration Ecology”.
Neighborhood Grant B Miller
After completing the tree planting
project along the B-G Trail with the Seattle Department of Transportation
(SDOT) grant a tree canopy on 40th can be added. Bonnie Miller move to “
support the planting / building of tree canopy on 40th NE
under the “Bridging the Gap” grant of SDOT, seconded by A. Forray. It was vote on and passed unanimous.
