HHCC Board Meeting January 18, 2012

The next meeting of the Hawthorne Hills Community Council is scheduled for January 18, 2012 at 7:30 pm in the first floor Conference Room, Bldg. 30, Warren G. Magnuson Park. Community members are always welcome to attend!

Support Magnuson Community Center

We can make a difference in the 2012 Community Center budget proposal that was released recently by Seattle City Councilmember Sally Bagshaw and the Mayor's office. Magnuson Community Center received a "2b", which is the lowest possible rating. If this rating stands, it will result in a drastic cutback of open hours and staff time, and make it simply impossible for Magnuson Community Center to offer the wide variety of great programs and special events that have helped make Magnuson Park into a fun and safe place for kids and families.

Please write and/or call the City Council Parks Chair Sally Bagshaw (sally.bagshaw@seattle.gov, 206-684-8801) and the Mayor's office (Mike.Mcginn@seattle.gov, 206-684-4000) to express the way you feel about Magnuson Community Center. Tell them which of the special events and programs you personally have been touched by, and please ask them to reconsider and restore Magnuson Community Center to at least a "2a" rating, which would preserve the majority of the wonderful programs and special events listed above.
