The Seattle Parks Foundation hosts this tour and day of activities in Olmsted-designed Lincoln Reservoir Park as part of the Olmsted Centennial Celebration, led by Friends of Seattles Olmsted Parks, Groundswell Off Broadway, Seattle Public Utilities, and Seattle Parks and Recreation. The focus of the tour will be on changes and upgrades to the park, such as the new shelter house, burying the reservoir, a new art/water feature in the works to be built, trees to be protected and added, and the eventual building of a new playground. Immediately following the tour will be a dedication ceremony for the Chinese Scholar Tree as a Seattle Heritage Tree, the dedication of the new Shelterhouse, live music and refreshments, the formal announcement of the parks new name, and the groundbreaking of the Reservoir Replacement Project.
