Status Report - October 2005

Emergency Water Supply

Fire Department equipment and water connections at eight reservoirs will be complete by the end of the year.  The hydrants at Beacon, Myrtle, and West Seattle are now in place.  The first drafting port installation (Lincoln Reservoir) is substantially complete.

The valve installation for the hydrant connection at the Roosevelt Reservoir was completed several months ago.  The drafting port installation at that site and the other remaining three sites are planned for 4th quarter 2005.

Emergency Power Supply

This project is on schedule to be completed by the end of this year.  The Parks Department has now received three of the six generators.

Emergency Supplies Caches

The City has selected three of the proposed site, and Fleets and Facilities is working with Parks on the preferred site for Magnolia.

Small Fireboat

Hull construction is underway and the hull structure is taking shape.  Final hull inspection is targeted for mid-November.  The project is on schedule and in budget, with a boat delivery in May, 2006.  The first construction photos have been posted on the levy web site.

Large Fireboat

Design for the large vessel is complete.  The construction contract should be executed in early to mid-October.

Fire Station 10 Project

This project is on schedule, with construction beginning in January and construction completion planned for December 2007.

Joint Training Facility

Construction is 87% complete.
