Preschool Fire Safety Program

Young children are especially vulnerable to fire and burn injuries.  To address the fire safety needs of preschoolers, the Seattle Fire Department offers a comprehensive fire safety program for delivery in preschools and daycares.  Materials are aimed at children between the ages of three to five years.

The Fire Safety Program utilizes the award-winning Play Safe! Be Safe! kit to teach four important lessons:

  • Firefighters are our friends
  • Stop! Drop! And Roll!
  • Crawl low under smoke
  • Keep away from matches and lighters
