The Seattle Fire Department is committed to sharing information with the public about the emergencies occurring around the city, fire safety, fire statistics, the fire code, community events, and more. There are multiple avenues online where Seattle residents can gain useful information from the Department.  

Real Time 911 Dispatch

Real Time 911 helps keep the community and the media informed about incidents in their neighborhoods 24 -hours a day. In 2010, this page has been viewed 24 million times.www2.seattle.gov/fire/realtime911/getDatePubTab.asp

Emergency Incident Search 

Allows the public to search online for both current fire and emergency medical responses and those dating back to 1994 by address or type of incident.  www2.seattle.gov/fire/mr/incidentSearch.htm 

Fire Line Blog

Information and photos of emergency incidents, upcoming events and fire safety and prevention information is posted on the Department’s blog. www.fireline.seattle.gov

Fire Prevention and Safety Information

Online Events Calendar 

Find out about Department events like new fire station dedications, fire station open houses and fire safety presentations. www.seattle.gov/fire/calendar.htm 

Fire Research and Fire Statistics

Tracks the number of yearly emergencies and average response times for every response unit. The site also has National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) annual reports that provide historical information on structure fires, rescues, injuries and fatalities.  www.seattle.gov/fire/statistics/stats.htm 

Online Infectious Disease Tracking 

Firefighters enter symptom information into an SFD database called “Situation Found” when they treat patients with flu-like symptoms. The symptoms are then tracked and evaluated by Seattle King County Public Health in real-time to identify possible trends in sickness.  www.seattle.gov/fire/statistics/sitfound/default.htm 

Online Permits 

The public can search online for permits and permit history by business name or address. Permits can be paid for by credit card over-the-phone or over-the-counter. www2.seattle.gov/fire/FMO/permits/permitStatus/permitStatusSearch.htm

Online Fire Code 

Fire Code regulations and bulletins are constantly used by developers, building owners and architectural and engineering firms.  Code information can be easily accessed online.www.seattle.gov/fire/FMO/firecode/firecode.htm 

Web Suggestion/Comment Form

The public can get in touch with the Department via a web suggestion/comment form. There is also an online Department directory available as well as an online FAQ. www.seattle.gov/fire/contact/contactForm.asp
