Emergencies that require dispatch of a Technical Rescue Team occur infrequently but they are also the incidents that pose the highest safety risk to both victims and firefighters. Seattle Fire Department staffs Rescue Technicians 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. These Technicians are also a valuable resource for training other firefighters in the skills of technical rescues. |

Examples of Technical Rescues
Members of the Technical Rescue Team also participate in FEMA's Urban Search and Rescue Team (USAR). The TRT continues to build relationships with the business community. Future improvements in service are focused on sharing information, training and resources with contractors, labor and professional organizations. The TRT also participates in cooperative, comprehensive, training and education programs that include emergency responders and professionals from the business community that are the cornerstone of future program development.
