Levy Oversight Committee

The Levy Oversight Committee plays a key role in advising on and monitoring the levy's implementation. Six members comprise the Levy Oversight Committee. Determined by fire levy legislation, the composition of the committee currently includes:

• A Seattle resident with financial expertise selected by the Seattle City Council: TBD
• Two representatives from the Seattle City Council selected by the Council: Councilmember Lorena Gonzalez and Councilmember Sally Bagshaw
• Two City employees selected by the Mayor: TBD
• A Seattle firefighter selected by firefighters: Darren Schulberg, Seattle Fire Fighters Union, Local 27

The committee's quarterly meetings provide a venue for public comment, and the committee's activities promote communications with the broader community through, for example, online publication of the meeting record and relevant handouts. Finance and Administrative Services personnel staff the committee.
