Economic Impact Study

Seattle's Film and Video Induxtry's Economic Impact

The film industry does not just entertain, it also employs. Seattle film productions in 2001 employed an overall total of 4,991 locals, contributing $471 million to our city’s economy. Seattle is home to 700 different freelance specialists in different aspects of the film industry.

Film productions not only create local jobs, but they also generate a tax base and promote a positive image of the city that in turn stimulates tourism and gives back to the city. Seattle understands the importance of the film in our city and will continue to support and develop this growing industry.
