VALUES YOU CAN TRUST
We have accomplished what
seemed impossible; filing for office, mounting a campaign, and winning a crowded primary in just six weeks! Now, with the
endorsements of Governor Gary Locke, and City Council Member Martha Choe, we
are on our way to City Hall.
It is a time for teamwork and
concensus building, not rehashing tired old
"neighborhoods versus downtown" arguments. We
all share the same challenges: unraveling traffic congestion and preserving the
magnificent quality of life in Seattle
sure no one is left behind in our moment of prosperity and world attention.
GETTING THINGS MOVING
We must break through the gridlock
before people's patience with Sound Transit wears out.
Rail service should go to Northgate, and to 145th if possible
Rail service should serve SeaTac airport
We must not lose our chance for federal funding, and the city should seek much expanded funding from the state
We must look beyond rail to increasing bus travel, carpooling, vanpooling and bicycle use
BUILDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING
City government is uniquely positioned
to encourage and nourish the growth of affordable housing. We must stop talking and
put in place the full array of incentives
from tax abatement to zoning and code
improvements. We should encourage the growth of density around
RESPECTING OUR PEOPLE AND
The goals of Council Member Martha Choe to bring employment opportunity to women and minorities in Seattle must be fulfilled.
We must build on the landmark Cedar River Watershed agreement to increase and protect salmon habitat.
CITIZEN DESIRES WE WILL HONOR
Working with cab companies to create a flat $25 fare to the airport
Insuring off-leash areas for pet owners
with access to water
The World Trade Organization Summit should be welcomed as an opportunity to showcase our city, environment, and economy.

MY PLEDGE TO YOU
We need new energy on the council. I
know how to investigate, to articulate answers,
and fight for solutions. I know how to create teamwork and concensus. I will never divide,
but fight for an inclusive and productive city council.
