Hi, I'm CHERYL CHOW. I want to work
with you to make sure we keep our city a place that is affordable to seniors, families
and those in careers. From my long experience in public service, I know that by working
together, we can create solutions to the tough issues facing us all: affordable housing,
convenient transportation, strong neighborhoods and human services. We must
ensure that everyone benefits from our city and regional economic boom.
My action plan on:
TRANSPORTATION: Gridlock must go!
I will improve road conditions and increase bicycle lanes, minicircular buses, water
taxis and van pools. I will work for a regional
transportation solution that protects the environment and promotes sensible growth
and development.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING:
Everybody needs a roof! I will make sure Seattle has
a range of housing options including renttoown programs for struggling
families, cottagestyle homes, home shares and
help high density neighborhoods with necessary infrastructure support such as
sidewalks, sewage, and drainage.
NEIGHBORHOODS: Nurture our
Neighborhoods! I will aid neighborhood businesses through improvement loans, safeguard
the public safety by increasing bicycle police squads, and identify money in the city
budget to make neighborhood priorities and plans a reality.
HUMAN SERVICES: People are our
most precious resource and I will continue to champion basic services and programs
for those on fixed incomes, the working poor, and those without an income. I will work
with the courts, police and community organizations to eradicate domestic violence and
juvenile delinquency.
Raised in Seattle's tradition of civic
responsibility, I care for our Seattle community,
as proven by my record of longtime civic service.
