Individuals and groups can make independent expenditures supporting or opposing Seattle candidates or ballot issues. In the last 21 days of an election they must disclose these expenditures by filing a report with the City Clerk within 24 hours of making the expenditure. They are also required to file an affidavit swearing that the expenditures were made without consultation, collusion or cooperation with any candidate that may have benefitted from the expenditure.

Reports of Independent Expenditures can be seen by clicking on the name of the maker of the expenditure on the left side of this page.

Political Committees that make Independent Expenditures are not required to electronically file their reports with the City. As a result, other information reported by such committees will not be found on this web site. Paper reports filed by such committees, including reports of contributors to these committees, are available at the offices of the City Clerk (Room 104) and the Seattle Ethics & Elections Commission (Room 226), Municipal Building, 600 4th Avenue, between Cherry and James.
